The two apps solve the same problem from opposite directions. My Row Counter brings your whole project into the app: the pattern, the charts, your Ravelry queue, reminders. RowTally assumes all of that lives elsewhere and gives you one very good counter instead.

You want to open the app, tap through a row and close it — no ads, no navigation, no upsell in the way. You want a large tap target with haptic confirmation so you never look at the screen to check the count registered.
You care that your projects and counts stay on your device, with no account and nothing uploaded.
The trade-off is real and worth restating: RowTally needs iOS 26 or later while My Row Counter runs on iOS 15.6, and there is no sync, no pattern features, no Watch, English only, and no ratings yet because the app is new.

The honest summary
On a feature-count basis this is not close: My Row Counter does far more, and its 3,700 ratings represent years of real use that a new app cannot claim. If you are choosing on capability or track record, choose it.
RowTally exists because a subset of crafters do not want capability. They want one number, held reliably, with nothing between them and the tap — and they want it to work in a garden with no signal, without an account. If that is you, the smaller app is the better app. Both statements are true at the same time.
Can you use both?
Yes, and some people do: My Row Counter as the project home for patterns and charts, a minimal counter for the row you are on right now. Neither app charges you for having the other installed.
If you do trial both, run the same test on each — count ten rows, force-quit, reopen — and see which one you find yourself opening on the sofa. Habit is a better signal than a feature table.
